Why You Should Stop Apologising for Things That Aren't Your Fault

Many women apologise for things that aren't their fault — bumping into someone in a shop, being given wrong order at restaurant, being interrupted in a meeting. The habit weakens your position and produces internal resentment.

What to say instead

'Excuse me' (for getting attention). 'Thank you for your patience' (when you're delayed). 'I appreciate that' (when someone is helpful). 'I'd like to finish' (when interrupted). None of which is apology.

Notice the apology habit this week. Replace with neutral alternatives. Most women find their daily mood improves with the reduction in unnecessary apologising.
